The Research and Initiative Center is the administrative research structure at Prince Sultan University that provides faculty members with different research services. It was established on September 2017, and since then the Center has developed the research policies and bylaws at the University. The Research and Initiative Center is responsible for providing assistance to the researchers of Prince Sultan University and provide them with appropriate infrastructure to conduct their research activities. It acts also as the mediator between the colleges and higher management. RIC directly reports to the Rector of the University, which makes the decision process fast and effective. Furthermore, RIC is responsible for evaluating the research performance at the University in terms of outcomes and expenditure.
The aim of the new research strategy at Prince Sultan University is to decentralize the research activities at the University to the college level, to reduce the duplication and overhead, to ease the research process, and to identify PSU strength and set distinguished research themes driven by these strengths.
RIC is intended to create a suitable environment that nurtures, encourages and inspires research activities that lead PSU to be among the top universities in the Middle East.
Foster research excellence among faculty members of PSU and prioritize the Saudi Vision 2030 in their scholarly research activities.
