Dr. Israa FardousID Built Environment Lab aims to provide the employment market with innovative interdisciplinary approaches and concepts that will enhance the community, promote cultural continuity, and sustain a sustainable environment through teaching, research, and practice. To create a built environment that is climate-resilient, equitable, and dependable.
The ID Built Environment Research Lab aims to prepare students to be successful in the professional field, encouraging them to be designers who contribute to the development of their environment and community and to participate in planning and designing the future in an environmentally sustainable manner.
Examine and comprehend the problems and opportunities of developing a sustainable built environment at various scales and settings, for human/ practice-centered design.
Understand current design trends and future design directions based on systematic and objective problem solving.
Contribute to the future’s social and environmental well-being.
Deliver applied research and strategies for future adaptation, for systematic and efficient performance analysis of building systems.
Develop and test an indoor environmental measurement platform including sensors and software for real-time evaluation.
Evaluate the space’s occupant satisfaction and place effectiveness. This allows for precise and reliable feedback from building occupants.
Improve occupant satisfaction through scientific innovation. This will allow us to measure the effectiveness of architectural elements and design strategies.
