OVERVIEW
The exponential growth of knowledge led to the transformation of the
global economy into an economy that relies on the scientific knowledge that achieves the
most significant added value in this economy. The key to scientific knowledge is
creativity and technology. The speed of economic change and the growing role of science
and technology pose a challenge to the world's countries, even the developed ones, as
globalization has brought down the barriers of distance and time, so technical progress
has become the decisive link for achieving economic progress. Thus, universities must
assume new roles that keep pace with the speed of economic change and anticipate the
burdens and repercussions of this change in the current and future local conditions.
As an extension of PSU's mission to develop research and innovation and preserve the
rights of the university and researchers, and in an effort to localize technology,
disseminate knowledge and serve the community, the university established the
Intellectual Property (IP) Office at the Innovation Center (IC) to protect the
intellectual property rights of inventors, creators and writers from the university's
employees and students to ensure that their rights are protected when converting their
innovations and creative ideas into Commercial and industrial products on the ground.
