This recognition proves PSU's commitment to high-quality research and growing impact on the academic world.
Commenting on this achievement, the Director of the Research and Initiatives Center, Dr. Dhafer Almakhles, stated: "This achievement, by the grace of Allah, reflects PSU’s clear vision, ambitious goals, and the strategic efforts of our dedicated research community. However, this is just the beginning. Being ranked number one was not one of our strategic goals; our true focus is conducting research that serves our community and drives meaningful societal impact. PSU is committed to advancing its research mission by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, increasing external funding, expanding our industry partnerships, and establishing new research labs aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. We aim to produce globally recognized, impactful research addressing national priorities and global challenges. Over the next few years, PSU will focus on strengthening its research ecosystem through new funding initiatives, innovation incubators, and knowledge-sharing, ensuring that our researchers have the resources and support they need to drive real-world impact."
PSU’s research output has experienced exponential growth, supported by the university’s extensive research facilities, which include 23 research labs and groups and over 300 active researchers. Guided by its 2024-2030 Research Strategy, the university is set to further solidify its leadership in research through transformative initiatives, ensuring that its research continues to leave a lasting mark on academia, industry, and society.
