Prince Sultan University Ranks #1 in Saudi Arabia for Robotics Research
Prince Sultan University (PSU) has achieved a milestone by being ranked first in Saudi Arabia in Robotics research, according to the latest report by EduRank. The university also holds the 219th position in Asia and is ranked 621st globally. The ranking is based on an analysis of over 1,440 academic publications and 20,100 citations related to robotics produced by seven Saudi universities.
Prince Sultan University has made significant investments in research infrastructure and capacity building, especially in emerging technologies, including robotics, artificial intelligence, and automation. Leading this advancement are five specialized research labs that have significantly contributed to PSU’s national and global standing:
- Robotics & Internet-of-Things Lab – Established in 2017 as PSU’s first research lab, the RIOTU Lab has led pioneering work in robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), autonomous vehicles, computer vision, and the Internet of Things
- Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics Research Lab – Focused on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science
- Smart Systems Engineering Lab – Working on the Internet of Things, embedded systems, automation, robotics, AI, machine learning, fiber optics, and 5G/6G technologies
- Automated Systems & Soft Computing Research Lab – Specializing in automated systems, mobile and autonomous robots, robotic manipulators, swarm robotics, reinforcement learning, hybrid intelligent systems, smart mobility, and decision support systems
- Emerging Intelligent Autonomous Systems Lab – Working on cybersecurity, blockchain, cognitive systems, computer vision, digital transformation, and intelligent system design.
