RIC Meets with College Leaders to Align Research Activities with PSU's Strategic Plan
The Research and Initiatives Center (RIC) recently held a series of meetings with representatives from PSU's colleges to present its newly developed College Research Strategic Plan.
The meetings brought together College Research Directors (CRDs) and members of the College Research Council (CRC). They began with a brief overview of PSU's Strategic Plan 2024–2030, followed by an outline of the Center's Strategic Plan. The discussion emphasized the alignment between university-wide priorities and college-level research planning.
During the sessions, RIC highlighted its four strategic goals:
- Producing globally recognized and impactful research
- Fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship
- Enhancing research collaboration and knowledge exchange
- Transforming innovation and research into industry enterprise.
A key focus of the meetings was the College Research Director's role. RIC emphasized that the CRD serves as the primary liaison between the Center and the college, ensuring that college research activities align with PSU's Strategic Plan, research policies, funding priorities, and national research agendas.
The importance of preparing and implementing college-level research aligned with the Strategic Plan was also highlighted, along with the need to track progress and outcomes. RIC encouraged stronger engagement between CRDs and faculty members, as well as closer coordination with research labs and groups across the colleges, to support effective implementation and sustained research growth.
The meetings concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration and ensuring that college research efforts contribute meaningfully to the university's long-term strategic vision.
