DEFINITION
The research professor is a world-reputed scholar with a high research
impact. He is selected based on the criteria set by the University based on
the number of citations (total and annual) and the h-index. The research
professor must have a full-professor rank. Exceptions can be made for
associate professors based on their records.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Having in mind that the purpose of recruiting Research Professors at PSU is to improve
the ranking of the University and promote its research productivity and its research
impact, then it is crucially important to look at the following performance metrics of
the candidates, for having a short-list of selection. In 2020, the metrics for the
recruitment of new research professors are:
-
He must have a full professor rank (or associate professors, as an
exception).
-
Google Scholar H-index is greater than 40.
-
Number of Google citations is greater than 4500.
-
Number of Google citations starting from 2022 is greater than 400.
-
Number of Scopus citations in starting from 2022 is greater than 300.
This criterion will help to make a pre-selection of candidates.
RANK
The Research Professor should have a Full Professor position, with the
criteria mentioned above. However, it is possible to consider Associate
Professor candidates if they have outstanding achievements.
INTERVIEW & RECRUITMENT
If the candidate satisfies the criteria above, he will be interviewed by the
college dean and the lab leader to further investigate his contributions to
PSU if he joins. The respective college assesses his application and if
accepted, the college sends an approval request to the rector office for
final approval. The request must include clear arguments that justify the
