Dr. Maged Abdullah Esmail, an Associate Professor in the Communications and Networks Engineering Department and a member of the Smart Systems Engineering Laboratory, has been listed in the 2025 update of the Stanford–Elsevier “World’s Top 2% Scientists” database. The 2025 dataset, compiled by Prof. John P. A. Ioannidis and released via the Elsevier Data Repository, ranks scientists using a standardized composite citation indicator across 22 fields and more than 174 subfields. The Stanford–Elsevier list is widely used to benchmark scholarly influence, and its methodology and rationale are documented in peer-reviewed publications and institutional summaries. This recognition adds to PSU’s growing presence on the global list and follows earlier university announcements noting Dr. Maged’s inclusion in prior editions.
