Technology Development Program

The technology development program aims at accelerating impact research that results in commercialization and technology development. The objective of this program is to bridge the gap between academic research and market and help researchers to develop innovative technologies for a greater economic and social impact.

The technology development program provides funding of up to 100,000 SAR to research projects with commercial values and would lead to creatingHi-Tech startups and companies.
The project must lead to developing proof-of-concepts and prototypes at high technology readiness level (6 and above).

Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs)

TRLs are a method for assessing the maturity of a particular technology.

It's worth noting that different organizations may have slight variations in their definitions of TRLs and there are also other variations in readiness scale like DoD's (Department of Defense) Maturity of Technology Readiness Assessment (MTR) and Military Maturity Readiness Level (MRL)

They typically range from 1 to 9, with the following levels:

  • Basic principles observed: Scientific research begins to be translated into applied research and development.
  • Technology concept and/or application formulated: Conceptual design and analysis of the technology are performed.
  • Analytical and experimental critical function and/or characteristic proof-of-concept: Active research and development is conducted, including laboratory studies and simulations.
  • Component and/or breadboard validation in laboratory environment: Basic technological components are integrated to establish that they will work together.
  • Component and/or breadboard validation in relevant environment: Basic technological components are integrated and tested in a simulated environment that represents the intended operational environment.
  • System/subsystem model or prototype demonstration in a relevant environment: A model or prototype system is tested in a simulated operational environment.
  • System prototype demonstration in an operational environment: A prototype of the complete system is tested in an operational environment.
  • Actual system completed and qualified through test and demonstration: The final system is tested and demonstrated to be ready for production and deployment.
  • Actual system proven through successful mission operations: The system has been proven through successful operations in its intended operational environment.

Technology Licensing

This page should show the different available products available for licensing with clear description and demonstration.

For each product, we provide a page that contains the following information

  • Invention ID
  • Title
  • Technology Overview
  • Picture about the technology/ Video
  • How it works
  • Benefits
  • Applications
  • Patent status
  • Copyright stats
  • Contact email
